Win gift vouchers worth a thousand patacas by using autopay service to pay arbitrary system contributions in January next year

2012-09-06

In order to encourage arbitrary system beneficiaries to pay contributions through autopay service, the Social Security Fund (FSS) organizes a lucky draw event named “Easily get reward by using autopay service”. Those who use autopay service in January 2013 to pay the arbitrary system contributions for the fourth quarter of 2012 will be automatically enrolled in this lucky draw, and they will have a chance to win supermarket vouchers in the amount of 1000 or 300 patacas.

Arbitrary system beneficiaries can automatically participate in the lucky draw, provided that they can successfully make the payment of contributions for the fourth quarter of 2012 via autopay in January next year. 60 winners will be randomly selected by computer programme, among which 10 receive supermarket vouchers in the amount of 1,000 patacas and the remaining 50 winners in the amount of 300 patacas. The list of winners will be announced on the FSS website at www.fss.gov.mo in mid-February next year, and the winners will be notified individually by phone.

In order to provide a faster and more convenient way for arbitrary system beneficiaries to pay contributions, throughout the year, the FSS has increased the number of banks that collect the contributions, and at the same time promotes the use of electronic contribution channels which include autopay and online banking. According to the statistics of the second quarter, there are a total of 77,225 arbitrary system beneficiaries who have made contributions, of which 35,246 people use autopay service and 30,731 people pay contributions over the counter, among which 20,127 people use the counter service of the banks. In view of the fact that some beneficiaries often forget to pay contribution and need to rectify the default contribution, and it is required by law that the payment be made within two months after the statutory period ends, plus late payment interest fixed at a monthly rate of 3% on the amount of contributions overdue (a fraction of a month shall be counted as a full month, and the minimum charge is 50 patacas). Besides, if members of the public pay contributions over the bank counters, the administrative expenses to be borne by FSS are higher than that made via autopay, therefore, for the convenience of the public, conservation of resources and reduction of administrative costs, the FSS holds this lucky draw event in order to encourage arbitrary system beneficiaries to pay the contributions through autopay service of the nine designated banks, which include Bank of China Limited Macau Branch, Industrial and Commerical Bank of China (Macau) Limited, Banco Comercial de Macau S.A., Tai Fung Bank Limited, Macau Chinese Bank Limited, Luso International Banking Limited, Delta Asia Bank Limited, Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A. and Wing Hang Bank Limited.

The FSS reminds beneficiaries who have never applied for autopay service to pay contribution that they need to activate the relevant service on or before 31 December in order to make use of autopay service to pay contributions in January next year. For enquiries about this event, members of the public can call 2853 2850 during office hours.
