Those who stayed in Macao for less than 183 days due to the seven reasons prescribed by the regulation are required to declare again this year

2012-08-13

The Social Security Fund (FSS) said that as at 9 August, it has received 3,215 objections about the exclusion from the provisional list of the Central Savings System 2012 appropriation. Due to the status of being abroad may vary each year, the FSS reminds the participants who stayed in Macao for less than 183 days due to the seven reasons prescribed by the regulation to declare again this year, even though they had already filed an objection last year.

As at 9 August, the FSS received a total of 3,215 objections and 8,076 person-times of enquiries made in person or through telephone.

Regarding the questions raised by some participants who are excluded from the provisional list that although they were eventually included in the final list of the Central Savings System 2011 appropriation after going through the objection procedure last year, and yet they were not included in the list this year and are required to file an objection again, the FSS said that because the status of staying in Macao for less than 183 days due to the seven reasons prescribed by the regulation may vary each year, for instance, completion of a course, recovery of illness or emigration, etc. Therefore, they need to declare again this year, even though they had already filed an objection last year.

With regards to some members of the public saying that although they habitually reside in Macao and they have no departure record, and yet they were still excluded from the provisional list, the FSS advises that they can fill in the objection form and the relevant declaration form their actual situation in Macao in 2011, so that the FSS can conduct a comprehensive analysis and process their cases. In addition, if members of the public had already submitted the proof of residence in 2011 when they filed an objection or enrolled in the arbitrary system last year, they can fill out the form to state the relevant situation, the FSS will review their cases according to the available information.

In order to save time in dealing with formalities, the FSS calls on members of the public that if they have any doubts about the submission of documents, they can first read the relevant instructions attached with the notification letters, visit the FSS website at www.fss.gov.mo or call 2852 3333 for enquiries, so as to avoid submitting incomplete documents.

The notification letters about the exclusion from the provisional list of Central Savings System 2012 appropriation were all sent out on 6 August. Participants who are excluded from the provisional list can file an objection to the FSS on or before 14 September if they stayed in Macao for at least 183 days during 2011, or they stayed in Macao for less than 183 days due to the seven reasons prescribed by the regulation. The objection form and all kinds of declaration forms can be downloaded from the FSS website or they are available at different service points. The forms, when duly completed, can be submitted to more than 80 service points in Macao, which include the FSS Head Office, Areia Preta Service Centre of Macao SAR (Area of Social Security and Employment Services), Central District Public Services Centre, Islands District Public Services Centre, the General Union of Neighbors Association of Macao, Macao Federation of Trade Unions, Woman’s General Association of Macao, Caritas Macao, the Macao Chamber of Commerce, Association of Returned Overseas Chinese and Association of Retirees and Pensioners of Macao.
