The Executive Order No. 167/2011 (the Executive Order) published today in Official Gazette of the Macao SAR announces the stipulations of the income distribution of the Central Savings System. It sets down that the participants of the Central Savings System can be distributed with the income generated in their individual accounts. Besides, the Executive Order also stipulates the calculation and distribution method of the relevant income. The Social Security Fund (FSS) said that the first dividend will be paid in September.

The period of income calculation starts from September each year to August in the following year (12 months in total), except for the first calculation period for the 2010 appropriation of the Central Savings System, which is calculated from August 2010 to August 2011 (13 months in total). The income rate will be announced after the income settlement date, which is 31 August each year. The calculation formula of the income distributed to the individual account is the income rate multiplied by the sum of the monthly balances in the account during the income calculation period.

The interest income for the 2010 appropriation of the Central Savings System will be transferred by the FSS to the individual accounts of the participants of the Central Savings System in September. Due to the stipulation that withdrawal can only be made once in a year, the FSS reminds the participants who are eligible for withdrawal that, if the application of withdrawal is made after the dividend is paid, they can withdraw the lump sum with the interest income; however, if the withdrawal is applied before the dividend is paid, the amount for withdrawal is based on the balance in the account at that time only and the relevant income can only be taken out in the next withdrawal.
