The Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) last month announced the name list of special allocation from budget surplus 2018 under the non-mandatory central provident fund system, and it will send notices to those who are not included for the first time, or those who have attained 65 years of age and not included in the list.  The FSS calls on members of the public to check the list as early as possible, and those who are not included in the list may file an objection statement.

Members of the public can check the name list through the website of the FSS at www.fss.gov.mo, the 24-hour interactive voice response hotline at 2823 0230, the self-service machines, or at a service point of the FSS.  As of June 30, 363,407 people were included in the list and 146,671 people were not, and the FSS received a total of 3,260 objection statements.

For those who are not included in the name list of special allocation from budget surplus 2018 because they stayed in the Macao SAR for less than 183 days due to the following reasons, they may file an objection statement:

(1)   He or she attended higher education courses recognized by the local competent authorities;
(2)   He or she was hospitalised;
(3)   He or she attained 65 years of age and habitually resided in mainland China;
(4)   He or she was under 65 years of age, but habitually resided in mainland China due to health reason, in particular, the need for non-hospital nursing, palliative therapy, rehabilitation services or family care;
(5)   He or she provided work outside the Macao SAR for an employer registered with the FSS;
(6)   He or she worked outside the Macao SAR in order to bear the main living expenses of his or her spouse, any degree of lineal consanguinity or affinity who resided in the Macao SAR;
(7)   He or she performed official duties, performed duties for the Macao SAR or discharged other official duties;
(8)   He or she had humanitarian or other properly explained reasons (subject to permission of the Chief Executive).

The properly completed objection statement form together with the relevant supporting documents must be returned to the following locations:

(1)   Temporary office of the Social Security Fund at Tap Seac;
(2)   Areia Preta Service Centre of the Macao SAR;
(3)   Public Services Centres under the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau;

• Central District Public Services Centre;
• Islands District Public Services Centre;
• Islands District Public Services Centre (Seac Pai Van Station);

(4)   Social service centres under the Social Welfare Bureau;
(5)   The former Southern District (Praia do Manduco) Social Service Centre.

The prescription of claiming the right to the funds of 2018 is three years, i.e., the right will expire on 31 December 2021, and late filing of the objection statement will result in the invalidity of the right.  The FSS reminds the people concerned to file an objection statement as soon as possible.
