To cope with the enforcement of Law No. 4/2010 “Social Security System”, the Social Security Fund is going to renew the composition of the employer registration number and the beneficiary number. The numbers will be updated to 10 digits on 1 February 2011, for the purpose of effectively distinguishing between the employers and the beneficiaries. At the same time, a check digit will also be added to verify the correctness of the numbers filled in by the employers and the beneficiaries.
The updated numbers are comprised of 10 digits. The first digit represents the category (“1” stands for employers and “2” stands for beneficiaries). The next 8 digits remain the same as the original employer registration number or the beneficiary number before the digit number update. The last digit is the check digit.
Starting from today, members of the public can visit the FSS website at www.fss.gov.mo to check their updated employer registration numbers or beneficiary numbers by keying in their numbers before the digit number update.
