The Social Welfare Department (SWD) of Hong Kong SAR Government recently visited the Social Security Fund (FSS) to understand the operations of the FSS and the contents of the double-tier social security system. Both parties exchanged ideas on the work of social security and benefits of Hong Kong and Macao.
On 25 October, Tong Kit Hong, a Social Security Officer I of SWD, led an 11-member delegation to visit the FSS, where they were warmly received by Kuong Kuong Hong, head of the FSS Benefits Division, Chiu Ka In, acting head for the Contribution Division and Leong Ieng Fong, functional head of the Benefits Division. During the meeting, Leong introduced the operations of the double-tier social security system in Macao and the Social Security Fund to the SWD delegation. Subsequently, both parties exchanged ideas about the issues relating to the review mechanism of benefit payments, the handling of proof of life and the repayment procedures of benefits wrongly received.
