October is a Contribution Month of the FSS, and the Contribution Deadline is Extended to 5th November

2021-10-18

October is the contribution month for the Social Security System. In order to cope with the SAR Government’s epidemic prevention and control work, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) has extended the deadline for payment of contributions, and the employment fee for non-resident workers to 5th November (Friday).  Employers, and beneficiaries of the arbitrary system are suggested to make more use of electronic channels to pay contributions, or use the appointment service to save waiting time in queuing.

Considering that public sector employees were exempted from work for a few days to meet the needs of epidemic prevention and control at the beginning of this month, and there were more public holidays during the month, the FSS has extended the relevant contribution deadline to 5th November (Friday) in order to allow employers and residents to have more time to pay contributions, and the employment fee for non-resident workers, as well as to reduce the crowd gathering caused by employers and residents rushing to a service point for making their payments.  Employers who make the relevant payment before the deadline can waive the late payment interest and fine, if any.

The FSS calls on employers and beneficiaries of arbitrary system already applied for the use of Electronic Filing Service to use electronic channels to make their payments as much as possible, in order to reduce the risk of virus transmission and save time.  If you need to visit a service point in person, it is also suggested to use the appointment service and get a ticket number online. Residents who want to know more about the relevant information may visit the FSS’s website at www.fss.gov.mo, or call 2853 2850 during office hours for enquiries.
