Social Service Centres to Stop Providing Services Relating to Special Allocation from Budget Surplus from October

2018-09-27

The temporary counters at various social service centres for providing services relating to the special allocation from 2018 budget surplus of the non-mandatory central provident fund system will cease to operate in October, said the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao).  Members of the public can go to the designated service points of the FSS, or the Public Services Centres, or use the self-service machines for the related services.

The temporary counters of the FSS at the Social Welfare Bureau’s social service centres and the former Southern District (Praia do Manduco) Social Service Centre, for providing services relating to the special allocation from 2018 budget surplus of the non-mandatory central provident fund system, will cease to operate on October 1.  Members of the public can then continue to go to the temporary office of the FSS at Tap Seac, Areia Preta Service Centre of the Macao SAR (Area of Social Security and Employment), the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau’s Central District Public Services Centre, Islands District Public Services Centre and Seac Pai Van Station, or use the self-service machines set up at all districts of Macao for enquiries and applications for withdrawal of funds.

Starting in August, the FSS accepted, in stages by age group, the applications for withdrawal of funds from eligible individual account owners of the non-mandatory central provident fund system, who are included in the list of special allocation from 2018 budget surplus.  As of September 21, the FSS received about 53,000 applications for withdrawal of funds, accounting for approximately 85% of eligible applicants.  For applicants whose applications are approved and are aged 75 or older, or have received disability pension from the FSS for more than one year, and are currently receiving special disability subsidy from the Social Welfare Bureau, they will receive the money on October 23, whereas applicants aged between 65 and 74 will receive the money on November 23.

The FSS already announced in June the list of special allocation from 2018 budget surplus of the non-mandatory central provident fund system.  Persons who are not included in the list for the first time, or those who have attained 65 years of age but are not included in the list will receive a notice.   The FSS calls on members of the public to check the list as soon as possible.  Persons who are not included in the list can file an objection statement.

Members of the public who wish to enquire about the list of special allocation from 2018 budget surplus of the non-mandatory central provident fund system or to obtain relevant information, they can visit the website of the FSS at www.fss.gov.mo or call 2853 2850 during office hours.
