How to go through the formalities

Formalities and Required Documents

After the account owner and the fund management entity have entered into an individual provident fund scheme contract, submit the following documents to the fund management entity, in person or through a representative. The form is available at all service points of the Social Security Fund or can be downloaded from the Social Security Fund’s website.

1. Application for Setting up an Individual Provident Fund Scheme (Form E); (Form for download CH / PT) (Sample of form completion EN)
2. The individual provident fund scheme contract (a signed contract);
3. A photocopy of the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident ID Card.

Time Required to Process

The FSS shall make a decision within 60 days from the date of receipt of all required documents and issue the notice about the outcome of application to the account owner.

Remarks/Points to Note

1. Please note that the form and documents must be submitted through the fund management entity.
2. The fund management entity shall forward the application to the Social Security Fund for approval within 10 working days from the date of receipt of all required documents.
3. The FSS shall make a decision within 60 days from the date of receipt of all required documents and issue the notice about the outcome of application to the account owner.
4. The establishment of the individual provident fund scheme will take effect from the first day of the month that immediately follows the month of obtaining the permission.
5. An account owner can set up only one individual provident fund scheme with each fund management entity.
