Transfer of Funds of the Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund System

Service Introduction

Service Target and Eligibility Criteria

The individual account owners of the non-mandatory central provident fund system can apply to:

  1. transfer the balance of the government-managed sub-account out to the contribution sub-account or preserved sub-account.
  2. transfer the balance of the contribution sub-account or preserved sub-account to the government-managed sub-account.

Transferring Funds out of the Government-Managed Sub-Account

How to go through the formalities

Formalities and Required Documents

  1. The account owner may apply by logging in to the  “Macao One Account” mobile app / online platform /  or the “Online Services” of the Social Security Fund’s website. The service name for the Macao One Account is “Non-Mandatory Central Provident Fund’s Account Overview/Check Your Name in the List/Fund Transfer—Transfer of Funds from Government-Managed Sub-Account to Fund Management Entity”;
  2. Apply through self-service machines;
  3. If necessary, you may also bring the following documents to the Social Security Fund to complete the formalities in person or through a representative. The form can be obtained at all service points of the Social Security Fund or downloaded from the Social Security Fund’s website.
    (1) Application for Transferring Funds out of the Government-Managed Sub-Account (Form TO); (Form for download CH / PT) (Sample of form completion EN)
    (2) A photocopy of the applicant’s Macao SAR Resident ID Card.

Remarks/Points to Note

  1. All the funds recorded in the government-managed sub-account must be transferred out.
  2. The balance in the government-managed sub-account can only be transferred out to a contribution sub-account or preserved sub-account, and only once per year.
  3. As the market price fluctuates, the price at which the fund management entity purchases the fund unit may differ from the price at which the applicant files the application.
  4. If the applicant chooses to transfer the funds out to a joint provident fund scheme, the funds of the contribution scheme can be transferred again only after the employer notifies that the labour relationship has terminated.
  5. If the applicant chooses to transfer the funds out to an individual provident fund scheme, the funds of the contribution scheme can be transferred again only after the applicant notifies the fund management entity to terminate the individual scheme.
  6. To update the address or telephone number, please complete the “Change of Personal Particulars Form”.

Methods of receiving service results:

  1. If you use the “Macao One Account”, you will receive a reminder message from the “Macao One Account”.
  2. If you apply using a method other than the “Macao One Account”, you can choose to receive an official letter or a mobile text message.
  3. If your application is not approved, an official notification letter will also be sent to you by post.
