The FSS calls on members of the public to pay attention to the new service points for the contribution payment from July onwards

2012-06-26

The Social Security Fund (FSS) said that from July onwards, new service points are available for collecting the FSS obligatory system contributions of the local long-term employees (without changes in the employment situation in the quarter) and the employment fee for non-resident workers. The new service points include the Islands District Public Services Centre of Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM), the Central District Public Services Centre located at Rotunda de Carlos da Maia, Delta Asia Bank Limited, Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A and Wing Hang Bank Limited. Among these new points, Wing Hang Bank Limited and Central District Public Services Centre of IACM also provide the collection service of arbitrary system contributions. In order to save queuing time, the FSS calls on the employers and beneficiaries to avail themselves of the new service locations for the contribution payment.

July is the month for paying the contributions of the Social Security System for the second quarter of this year. All employers are required to pay the obligatory system contributions for their local employees in July. If non-resident workers are hired, the employment fee should be paid at the same time. In July, the FSS Building and the Area of Social Security and Employment Services in the Areia Preta Service Centre of Macao SAR will continue to accept the payment of obligatory system contributions and employment fee for non-resident workers by the employers in cash, by cheque or cashier order (payable to the “Fundo de Segurança Social”). Employers can also go to the Islands District Public Services Centre and Central District Public Services Centre of IACM to settle the payment of obligatory system contributions of the local long-term employees (without changes in the employment situation in the quarter) and the employment fee for non-resident workers in cash, by cheque or cashier order (payable to the “Instituto para os Assuntos Cívicos e Municipais”). In addition, starting from July onwards, the number of banks that provide the collection service of obligatory system contributions of the local long-term employees (without changes in the employment situation in the quarter) and the employment fee for non-resident workers will be increased to nine banks (including: Bank of China Limited Macau Branch, Industrial and Commerical Bank of China (Macau) Limited, Banco Comercial de Macau S.A., Tai Fung Bank Limited, Macau Chinese Bank Limited, Luso International Banking Limited, Delta Asia Bank Limited, Banco Nacional Ultramarino S.A. and Wing Hang Bank Limited). Employers can go to the designated banks to settle the relevant payments in cash, by cheque or cashier order (payable to the “Fundo de Segurança Social”) (the above designated banks only accept the cheque and cashier order of their own banks), or through the in-house account transfer.

Apart from the above locations, the payment of arbitrary system contributions can also be made via the autopay service of the nine designated banks, via online banking of Bank of China Limited, Industrial and Commerical Bank of China Limited, Banco Comercial de Macau, Tai Fung Bank Limited and Banco Nacional Ultramarino, or via self-service machine “BOC EXPRESS”.

The FSS reminds employers and arbitrary system beneficiaries that the service of contribution collection provided by the service points of IACM and designated banks is only provided during the contribution months. In order to avoid late payment of contributions, the above payers should also pay attention to the transaction cut-off time of the online banking and that of the “BOC EXPRESS”.
