October is a Contribution Month and FSS Reminds the Public to Pay Contributions on Time

2018-10-03

October is a contribution month of the Social Security System.  Employers are required to pay in this month the contributions of the obligatory system for their local long-term employees for the third quarter of this year.  If an employer has hired a non-resident worker, he or she is also required to pay the employment fee as well.  In addition, beneficiaries of the arbitrary system are also required to pay contributions in October.  To save time waiting in line, the Social Security Fund (abbreviated to FSS in Macao) calls for members of the public to make full use of the electronic payment options to make their payments.  If someone needs to visit a field office of the FSS in person, he or she should note that the flow of people is highest at the end of the month and should visit the FSS as early as possible.

Employers only need to apply to the FSS for the Electronic Filing Service and then they can log in to the “Electronic Filing System” using their “ePass” accounts in order to report and view the staff’s employment information, enroll the employees as beneficiaries, download the contribution payment advice, view and download the List of Non-Resident Workers Required to Pay Employment Fee, and then make the payment through various electronic payment channels.

Employers, and beneficiaries of arbitrary system who have successfully applied for Electronic Filing Service are advised to use the autopay of the nine designated banks (including Bank of China Macau Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Ltd., Banco Comercial de Macau, Tai Fung Bank, Banco Nacional Ultramarino, OCBC Wing Hang Bank, Macau Chinese Bank, Luso International Banking Limited and Delta Asia Bank), or they can pay through the following channels:

  1. Jetco ATMs with Jetco logo, or online banking (including Bank of China Macau Branch, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Macau) Ltd., Banco Comercial de Macau, Tai Fung Bank, Banco Nacional Ultramarino and OCBC Wing Hang Bank);
  2. Self-service machines of BOC EXPRESS;
  3. Service points of the FSS (including the temporary office of the FSS at Tap Seac, the FSS’ field Office on the 13th Floor of China Civil Plaza in NAPE, or the Areia Preta Service Centre of the Macao SAR (Area of Social Security and Employment));
  4. Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau’s Central District Public Services Centre, Islands District Public Services Centre and Seac Pai Van Sub-Station;
  5. Payment counters of the above nine designated banks.

In addition, from this season onwards, beneficiaries of the arbitrary system can also pay through the self-service machines with FSS contribution logo, using the UnionPay QuickPass card or MACAU Pass card.

For the employers who have not yet successfully applied the Electronic Filing Service, they can pay the contributions and employment fee at the service points of the FSS.  If there is no change in the employment situation of the local long-term employees in the quarter, the contributions can also be paid at the three Public Service Centres of Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, or pay at the nine designated banks.

Members of the public who wish to find out more about the related information can visit the website of the FSS at www.fss.gov.mo or call 2853 2850 during office hours for enquiries.
