In order to strike a balance between surplus sharing and use of public money, the number of days staying in Macao is set as a criterion for the Central Savings System appropriation

2011-05-30

In regard to the comments made by Susana Chou, the former President of the Legislative Assembly, about the provisions of the eligibility for the Central Savings System appropriation, the Social Security Fund (FSS) respect and thank for her concern about the government policies. The SAR Government has set staying in Macao for at least 183 days in the preceding calendar year a crucial criterion for the right to enjoy the fiscal surplus of the relevant year. Through the establishment of this basic criterion, it avoids individuals who are unconnected to Macao to enjoy the protection improperly. This way ensures the use of public money while letting the residents enjoy the fruits of economic progress.

About the views expressed by members of the public regarding the non-inclusion in the provisional list or the declaration of stay in Macao, the FSS will check the relevant documents with prudence. Those who are confirmed to be eligible for the Central Savings System appropriation will then be listed in the provisional list again.
