In order to provide a faster and more convenient access point for the public to attend to all kinds of social security services, the Social Security Fund (FSS) has set up full-featured service desks at the Areia Preta Service Centre of Macao SAR (the Centre). Starting from 3 January next year (next Tuesday), social security services such as the payment of obligatory system and arbitrary system contributions, applications of various pensions and allowances, and services related to the Central Savings System will be provided there. On the other hand, since January is the contribution month, the FSS reminds members of the public to avail themselves of this new service point for the payment of contributions.

The FSS has opened service desks at the Area of Social Security and Employment Services in the Centre (Area P of the first floor). Services provided there include: “Social Security System” – payment of obligatory system and arbitrary system contributions, payment of employment fee for non-resident workers, applications of various pensions and allowances; “Central Savings System” – enquiry of name list, confirmation of the status of stay in Macao and applications of withdrawals. Furthermore, old-age/disability pension recipients can perform their proof of life on the ground floor of the Centre.

The Centre is situated at No. 52, Rua Nova da Areia Preta, Macau and the opening hours will be from Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (without lunch break).

On the other hand, January is the month for paying contributions for the fourth quarter of 2010 under the Social Security System. The FSS reminds the employers to pay the obligatory system contributions for their resident workers in January. For non-resident workers employed, the employment fee for them should be paid at the same time. The relevant contributions can be paid at the FSS Building and the FSS service desks at the Centre. The payment of arbitrary system contributions is also required to be made in January. In addition to the locations mentioned above, payment of arbitrary system contributions can also be made at the Islands District Public Services Centre of Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, or through service counters, online banking or autopay services of designated banks.
