Introduction to the proof of life

According to Article 36 and Article 38 of Law No. 4/2010 (Social Security System), beneficiaries receiving Social Security Fund’s old-age/disability pension are required to provide the proof of life every year to maintain the benefit payment. 

The proof of life is accepted every year from 1 January.  If the proof of life is not provided by the end of March of that year, the old-age/disability pension payment will be suspended from April until the beneficiary provides the proof of life.  The pension payment to which the beneficiary is entitled will then be resumed.

Ways to provide the proof of life

To facilitate senior citizens and people with disabilities to provide the proof of life, the Social Security Fund provides the following methods, which include:

• "Macao One Account" mobile application
• Self-service machines
• Verify the Proof of Life for People from Guangdong and Macao (only applicable to beneficiaries currently residing in Guangdong Province)
• Submit supporting documents
• Visit a service point in person
